CasaCor Ecuador 2014
Casacor is the most important architecture and design exhibition in Latin America. A heritage building is selected to be remodeled and restored by several designers in the area. In November 2014 it was the first time that this exhibition opened its doors in Ecuador.
The exhibition included the design of furniture, interior and lighting for three spaces of the house that turn into a kitchen, a hall and a closet. Inspired by the art deco movement, the design of these spaces matches the architecture of the house that was built in 1923 and is therefore influenced by this purely decorative movement. Geometric shapes, zig-zag compositions and luxurious materials predominate in the design, adding movement and creating a dynamic space. The original floor of the kitchen was preserved, and restored providing character to the space, as well as highlighting its historical value. The lighting was incorporated into the furniture to accentuate it and to provide adequate lighting for each space.
Project designed as Coordinator of Design and Development in Madeval. It included the design, management, production and installation.
